Short answers to common questions about cruise loyalty programs.
What is a frequent cruiser program?
It is a cruise line’s loyalty or past-guest program. Members earn status by sailing (or, on some lines, by spending) and receive perks that grow with each tier.
How do I find my loyalty number?
It is usually shown in your online account with the line, in the line’s app and on past booking documents. Our advisors can help you look it up.
Can I combine status from two different cruise lines?
Points generally are not pooled across unrelated lines. Some sister lines recognize each other’s status, and some lines offer status matches from outside programs.
Do I earn points on a group or charter cruise?
Usually on group bookings, yes. Full-ship charters can have different rules. Ask before you book.
Does my status apply to everyone in my cabin?
Many perks are per member, while some apply to the cabin. Each program sets its own rules.
What happened to Carnival’s VIFP Club?
Carnival replaced it with Carnival Rewards in 2026. Status now depends on spending rather than days sailed, and existing members carried their status into the new program.
Do loyalty perks affect cabin upgrades?
They can play a part. Our sister site Cruise Upgrades explains how upgrades really work.
Are point values on this site guaranteed?
No. We quote only figures published on the lines’ own pages when we checked them. Programs change, so always confirm on the line’s loyalty page.
Will booking through Mister Cruise affect my points?
No. You earn exactly the same points and keep the same perks, and the quote is free.

How to Keep Track of Several Programs
Frequent cruisers often belong to three or four programs. A simple note on your phone with each line, your member number, your current tier and any expiry rules saves time whenever you book. Check your accounts after every cruise to make sure the points posted, and keep confirmation e-mails until they do. When a line changes its program, as Carnival did in 2026, log in and read the new terms; some changes ask existing members to take an action before benefits carry over. Share the list with your advisor so every reservation carries the right numbers.
Loyalty Is One Factor, Not the Only One
It is easy to stay with a line out of habit because the perks feel earned. Every few years, step back and ask whether that line still offers the ships, itineraries and atmosphere you want. A great trip on a different line is worth more than a free drink on the wrong one — and you keep the status you already have for when you return.
